What is Geography?
Geography is the study of the physical environment, including features and occurrences like weather, natural vegetation, rivers and mountains.
WE study how all features and occurrences in the physical environment affect our lives and the environment we live in.
The word geography is derived from the the ancient Greek words ge meaning "Earth" and graphein meaning "to write". Thus, Geography means to write about, or describe the Earth.
The 'Father of Geography' is the greek scholar, Eratosthenes (276 BC - 192 BC). He was the first person to measure the circumference if the Earth, without all the technology we have today.
